Farm Operations Assistant – Full-Time
C&F Farms | Roanoke/Botetourt Area, Virginia
We're looking for a dependable, hardworking person to join our family farm as a Full-Time Farm Operations Assistant.
C&F Farms raises cattle, hogs, chickens, and turkeys and sells our products directly to customers throughout the region. As our farm continues to grow, we're looking for someone who wants more than just a temporary farm job—we'd like to find someone who can become a long-term part of our operation.
The Position
This is a hands-on position working throughout the farm. Responsibilities will include:
Daily livestock and poultry care
Feeding, watering, bedding, and moving animals
Setting up and moving fencing
Checking fences, water systems, and livestock areas
Barn, facility, and grounds maintenance
Basic fence, gate, equipment, and facility repairs
Cleaning and maintaining farm equipment
Receiving and organizing meat inventory
Maintaining freezer and storage areas
Preparing and maintaining farmers market equipment
Assisting with seasonal farm projects and improvements
Other day-to-day jobs that come with operating a working farm
As experience grows, we want this person to take increasing ownership of regular farm responsibilities and become someone who can recognize what needs to be done without waiting for a list every morning.
Experience
Previous farm experience is helpful, but it is not required.
Experience with livestock, agriculture, construction, landscaping, equipment, mechanical work, or other hands-on jobs is certainly valuable, but we're willing to train the right person.

Schedule & Compensation
Full-Time: Approximately 40 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend livestock responsibilities.
Pay: $16–$20 per hour based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
